Soccer Innovation is the concept of former professional footballer Ricky Gillies. Ricky, a gifted midfielder, and former under-21 Scotland Captain, thrilled fans and terrorised opponents during his time with clubs including St. Mirren, Aberdeen, Partick Thistle and latterly in New Zealand.
Ricky was inducted into the St Mirren FC hall of fame after 11 years of service to the club. A technically gifted attacking-midfielder he made over 500 league appearances, scoring over 70 goals. He also currently holds the record for being the youngest ever scorer in St Mirren FC history. After attracting interest from many clubs including, Liverpool FC, Newcastle United FC and Rangers FC, Ricky was transferred to former European cup-winners' cup champions Aberdeen FC for £400,000 in 1997.
Ricky also has the distinction of captaining the Scotland U21s team on several occasions.
