Soccer Innovation Scholarship Program
Scholarships allow talented soccer players the chance to help pay for their education by representing their university on the pitch. Scholarships can be awarded for academic reasons as well as performance.
Stage 1 - Academic Assessment
After your initial enquiry, the first stage is to evaluate your suitability for a US soccer scholarship. This will be done by looking at your academic qualifications and technical ability, along with a meeting to find out more about you as a person. What your goals are both academically and in football, long term and short term. Once we gather this information we will be able to determine if you have a realistic chance of a US soccer scholarship and if you are suitable to join the Soccer Innovation Scholarship program. We are confident that there are scholarship opportunities for any young and talented footballer.
Stage 2 - Acceptance
Once accepted into the Soccer Innovation Scholarship program, we will research all universities that you are eligible for and give our recommendation based on your needs including, finance, course work, location, school size, coaches and socially. We will then arrange video footage of you which will be posted on our coaches centre website, to be accessed by all US coaches. In our experience a coach wants to see footage of each player he intends to make a scholarship offer to. We will also be in contact directly with coaches to discuss all individual candidates' skills and qualities. Every individual's video footage is unique to them, with the ultimate aim of securing the best possible scholarship offer.
Stage 3 - Eligibility
This is a critical part of the process. Where are you eligible to play, and how to go about it? Again, we will guide you through this critical stage, explaining what each governing bodies eligibility requirements and regulations are, how to register for SAT exam and giving tips on how to prepare for it.
Stage 4 - Choosing your College/University
We will provide you with a list of questions to ask the coach once initial contact has been made directly with you. For example, you may want to know the graduation rates of the students? How many are in the squad? If there are other international students? Where exactly is the College/University? Our aim is to make this choice as easy as possible for you, as you may receive more than one offer, giving you plenty to think about.
Stage 5 - Heading to the USA
Once you have accepted a scholarship and signed the National Letter of intent, we will provide contacts and procedure for student visa, health insurance, travel arrangements and any other last minute questions before you head off to a new exciting chapter in your life.
Stage 6 - Support Service
This stage is where we differ from our competitors. We don't just wave you off and wish you well. We very much still regard you as part of the Soccer Innovation team. Therefore, it is our philosophy to provide continuous support and management, through your soccer experience before and after your time in the USA. This will be discussed at your consultation, which means that the advice we provide will best suit your personal needs.
Stage 7 - Graduation
It will take four years for you to complete the course and following successful graduation, we will maintain regular contact with you and we will guide and support you to make your next career choice. You may decide that the USA is the place for you, you may decide you want to return to the UK to play professionally or you may want to try your luck in Europe.
In any case, we are there to support you, and with a university education in your back pocket and with the benefit of your life experience in the USA, we believe you will have the best possible chance to make it to the highest level in football.
